Motorcyclist crashes after failing to stop at light
PIERCE COUNTY -- A motorcyclist died Monday night after failing to stop at a red light and slamming into a car, the Washington State Patrol said.
Tristan Newton, 27, was driving a 1993 Honda CBR-900 south on State Route 7 near 204th Street near Tacoma when he failed to stop at a red light. He struck a 1995 Toyota Camry driven by a 50-year-old man who was turning northbound on State Route 7.
Newton was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.
The Washington State Patrol is investigating the crash.
