New modular condos going up in Belltown

SEATTLE -- A new seven story condominium complex in Seattle is going up like a stack of blocks.

Work is almost complete on the N-Habit: Belltown project at Third Avenue and Bell Street.

Construction crews are using a modular approach to the building, which takes about half the time of a normal job.

In this case, a couple of weekends.

The pre-constructed units already have plumbing, heating, cooling, appliances, paint and flooring in place.

They were trucked in from Oregon and stored at a nearby site until being stacked into place.

The 49 units will be on the market early 2014.
