Online fireworks sales are illegal
OLYMPIA - In two weeks, the nation will be celebrating the country's independence with fireworks displays of all shapes and sizes.
But the State Fire Marshal wants to remind Washington residents that the purchase of fireworks over the internet is illegal. In Washington, fireworks must be purchased from a licensed retail fireworks stand during the legal sales period, lasting from June 28 - July 5.
In addition, each city and county may have their own ordinances regarding fireworks that may be more restrictive than the state laws. For example, fireworks are prohibited in the city limits of Seattle and Tacoma year-round.

The State Fire Marshal also reminds people to be safe when setting off fireworks. Be sure to have water nearby and put pets indoors, allow only adults to light fireworks, and be sure to clean up any fireworks debris after you're done.
