Owner of stolen car takes to Facebook to try to find it: 'They didn't break a window, nothing''

Kelli Lee's stolen Honda. Have you seen it?

EVERETT -- Kelli Lee says her 1997 Honda Civic was stolen from her apartment complex sometime Monday night.

Lee learned she wasn't the only one having a bad day -- her neighbor's Honda Civic was gone, too.

"When I woke up and came outside, I was getting ready to go to work and saw my car wasn't here.  It was just gone. It was just gone, they didn't break a window, nothing," said Lee.

Nearly 100,000 Hondas were stolen in 2013, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau.  The Honda Accord and Civic were the two most popular among thieves.

Lee said she felt helpless, so she did what many victims of theft are doing: Turning to social media.  She posted pictures and details about her stolen car on the Snohomish County Crime and Community Facebook page.

Lee's neighbor's car was recovered Wednesday in Snohomish County.

Lee hopes sharing her experience will be a lesson for others. She plans to invest in The Club lock for her car -- if and when she gets it back.
