PHOTOS: Family honors fallen officers with 119 luminaries

MILL CREEK -- A former police officer who served more than 20 years on the force has started a new holiday tradition.

Steve and Terri Rider decided to light a luminary on Christmas Eve to honor each and every fallen police officer, sheriff's deputy, corrections officer, federal agent, fish and wildlife agent and police K9, who lost their life this year in the line of duty.

"While writing the names and looking at the manner of death of each officer we were overwhelmed by the loss of those that protected us," Rider said.  "We feel for their friends and families that have to spend this holiday season without them."
