FUGITIVE WANTED IN SEATTLE June 13, 2016 --
Seattle Police and the U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Fugitive Apprehension Task Force are asking for the public's help to find Devon Harris, aka "Robert Earl Harris'. Detectives say Harris is an active 'pimp' believed to frequent the South Seattle/SeaTac/Des Moines/Tacoma areas.
Officers say he tried to drown a woman in a bathtub.
"The suspect was choking her and held her physically under the water," said Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. When she fought back, detectives say, Harris dragged her by her throat into the living room and began beating her all over her body with a belt. She was able to escape nude out the front door and make it to a neighbor's for help. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance where detectives say her injuries were consistent with the report of the attack. Court documents show afterwards, he continued to call and make threats to her saying, "I'll find you. I'm not finished."
“There’s cases that you look at sometimes that make you really upset and this is one of them,” said Carner.
Harris has a $750,000 warrant for his arrest for Domestic Violence Assault in the Second Degree. If convicted, it would be his third strike so he would be facing life in prison as a persistent offender. His two previous strikes are Assault 2nd Degree and Manslaughter 1st Degree. His additional criminal convictions include Escape 1st Degree and two counts of Promoting Prostitution 2nd Degree.
