Prosecutors won't seek death penalty in murder of Renton grandparents
RENTON -- King County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Satterberg says he will not seek the death penalty for the man accused in the brutal murder of his own grandparents. 27-year old Michael Boysen is accused of shooting his grandparents Norma and Robert Taylor last March in their Renton home.
He is charged with two counts of Aggravated Murder in the First Degree. If convicted, the only other sentence option for Boysen would be life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Prosecutors say Boysen killed his grandparents, who were in their 80's, after they held a party to welcome him home from prison. He had just finished serving 7 years for three robbery convictions. His motive for the murders, they say, is unclear, but he had made threats against family members and law enforcement.
