MAPLE VALLEY, Wash. -- In this raw video, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife officer Bruce Richards works to release a young elk caught in a soccer net at Rock Creek Elementary School in Maple Valley, about 20 miles southeast of Seattle.
Watch how the elk reacted to this act of kindness.
This video was taken Friday, Nov. 15, by an officer from the King County Sheriff's Office, which also responded to the call. The video was published on YouTube Monday.
"Note the WDFW officer says, 'You're welcome!' after freeing the young elk," King County sheriff's Sgt. Cindi West said in an email. "Nice job!"
