Record-breaking twisted hybrid coaster opens next month at Six Flags Magic Mountain (VIDEO)

VALENCIA, Calif. -- A California theme park is opening a dueling hybrid roller coaster in May.

The Twisted Colossus ride is scheduled to open to the public on May 23, Q13 FOX sister-station KTLA reports.

Billed as “the next generation of the beloved wooden roller coaster,” the “world record-breaking” hybrid coaster combines the iconic wooden structure with what Six Flags Magic Mountain described in a news release as a “state-of-the-art Iron Horse Track.”
