REI hosting 'zombie preparedness' classes
SEATTLE -- Are ready for the zombie apocalypse? REI's got your covered.
The outdoor gear store is hosting a series of zombie preparedness classes nationwide. Instructors will teach you the valuable survival techniques that could save your life if the world is overcome by the un-dead. These same techniques could be invaluable during any emergency.
REI says a zombie invasion is similar to a natural catastrophe, such as an earthquake, hurricane or tornado. There would be power outages, food and water shortages and injuries. It's recommended that you have crucial supplies on hand like flashlights, water purifiers, first aid kits and dehydrated food.
The idea for the zombie survival class came from an REI employee in Los Angeles. The course content is similar to educational material offered by the Centers for Disease Control.
Classes are being offered at the REI stores in Seattle, Issaquah and Olympia for free.
