Renton murder suspect accused of killing innocent woman in crossfire -- caught in Mexico
FUGITIVE CAPTURED December 8, 2015 -- Renton Police say accused murder suspect, Jerome 'CJ' Hopkins, was arrested in Tijuana on December 8th after being caught with fake identification under a different name. He was turned over to U.S. Customs Enforcement Agents at the San Ysidro Port of entry where a check of his real name revealed a $2 million warrant for his arrest. On May 22, 2013, Hopkins was one of two shooters involved in a fight at Liberty Park in Renton. 20-year-old Lonnie Reynolds was home visiting from Texas and was caught in the crossfire. Hopkins is being held at the San Diego Central jail awaiting extradition back to Washington State.
FUGITIVE WANTED IN RENTON June 21, 2013 -- Renton police say accused killer, Jerome ‘CJ’ Hopkins, got into a gun battle with another man on May 22nd at Liberty Park – after a fight between two women. 20 year old Lonnie Reynolds got caught in the crossfire and was killed. She was just an innocent onlooker. Lonnie had only been home from Texas for about a week when she shot. "She was just down with friends at the park trying to reconnect with people,” says Renton police Sgt. Dan Figaro. “She was there to visit her friends at this gathering down there.” Renton police say Hopkins was one of the shooters. Sgt. Figaro says they’re following up on leads, but hopes one of you spots him and calls it in. "Based on Hopkins’ criminal history and this incident that occurred down on Liberty Park on the evening of May 22nd, we believe him to be ‘armed and dangerous’ and to be a threat to the public.” Here are the details on JEROME ‘CJ’ HOPKINS:
