Renton police looking for child luring suspect

RENTON, Wash. -- The Renton Police Department said Tuesday it is looking for a child luring suspect who reportedly twice followed a 7-year-old girl in his car after she exited her school bus last week.

Police said that on Oct. 21 and 22, at about 3:25 p.m. both times, a Hispanic man driving a late 1990s white Acura or Toyota Camry followed a 7-year-old girl after she exited her school bus near the intersection of 120th Avenue SE and SE Petrovitsky.

The girl's mother told police that on Oct. 22, she heard the suspect yell at the girl, "Hey, little girl, get in the car."

The man did not get out of his car on either day.

The mother told police the man's car had a long scratch down the driver's side and the interior was full of items up to the windows in both the passenger and rear seat areas.

The girl described the man as a Hispanic man in his early 20s with a heavy build, bushy eyebrows, a mustache and a tattoo on the front of his neck near the collarbone. He was believed to be wearing a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt with some type of print on the front that looked like a person. He was also said to be wearing a blue shirt and a basketball hat.

Police ask that if anyone has any information about these incidents or the suspect to call the police department at 425-430-7500.
