Robbery suspects escape K9s, helicopter surveillance
MEDINA, Wash. -- Police are on the lookout for a pair of burglars who robbed a house in Medina late Thursday night and escaped despite K9s, a helicopter and police giving chase.
Officers responded to a home in the 8100 block of Overlake Drive West around 11:00 p.m at the call of a burglary. Authorities said the homeowner heard a door open on her first floor and called 911. The men entered through and unlocked door and snatched a purse.
When officers arrived, the two suspects fled on foot. K-9 units and a King County Sheriff's Office helicopter searched the area, but could not find the suspects.
fficers located some of the items discarded outside the residence. The items will be sent to the Washington State Patrol crime lab for processing.
In the warmer season, it's important to keep a watchful eye on your neighborhood and report any suspicious activity, and always lock your doors and windows even when you are home, police warned.
