RV explodes in Walmart parking lot
SPANAWAY -- Firefighters were called to the scene of a large RV explosion Thursday morning in Spanaway.
According to Central Pierce Fire and Rescue officials, the RV exploded in a Walmart Parking lot located in the 20000 block of Mountain Highway East. One person was injured in the blast and transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
Officials called to the scene quickly put out a small blaze. They said stored fuels and an open flame possibly caused the explosion.
RV's can legally park overnight at Walmart parking lots. It was unknown how long the RV was parked at the store.
