Saturday freebies: No admission to museums, galleries, parks

SEATTLE – IF you're looking to save a few bucks, there are bevy of freebies out there whether you want to stay indoors or head outside.

The Smithsonian Magazine’s Annual Museum Day Live event is Saturday, which means ticket holders and a guest can visit a participating museum for free.

There are more than 1,500 museums participating nationwide, including nearly 30 in our area, including:


    You must get a ticket before heading down to the museum or gallery, which you can get at the Smithsonian Magazine’s website.

    If you would rather head for the great outdoors, you can also visit a national park for free. Entrance fees at all national and state parks will be waived tomorrow as part of National Public Lands Day.

    The event coincides with the 100th anniversary of Washington State Parks.

    National Public Lands Day was set up to encourage outdoor recreation and volunteer work on public lands.
