Schools locked down after father allegedly makes angry threat
FEDERAL WAY -- Two Federal Way schools were briefly locked down Tuesday morning when a father threatened to have a shootout with police if they stopped him from picking up his kids, the Tacoma News Tribune reported.
Sacajawea Middle School and Todd Beamer High School were both in an external lock-down due to a threat received around 11 a.m. Tuesday. Additional security was on the site, and parents were notified of the threat.
According to the News Tribune, the father of children at each school was recently served a protection. On Tuesday, he and made threats to the childrens' mother that he would pick up the kids at school and said he would "shoot" anyone who tried to stop him.
It was unclear whether or not he made threats directly to the school or the childrens' mother. The lockdown was lifted at 11:25 a.m. Police are investigating the father's alleged remarks.
