Seahawks' Ricardo Lockette stops to feed homeless on way home from neck surgery
We all know Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette suffered a serious injury and just had neck surgery.
But you may not know that on his way back from Dallas, Lockette took a detour to hand out cheeseburgers to the homeless.
According to TMZ Sports, Lockette was riding with his parents to the airport when they drove through an area with large homeless population. He decided to do something about it.
A photo published by TMZ showed Lockette, still wearing a neck brace, and his parents feeding the homeless.
"He had a neck brace on while he was passing out the burgers," Earl Lockette told TMZ. "So some people were like, 'What happened to you?' But Ricardo didn't try and bring attention to who he was ... some people knew who he was. But this was more about Ricardo seeing people who were in worse shape than him, and wanting to help them however he could."
"It was a beautiful thing. Through helping other people, he helped heal himself. It was therapeutic for everyone."
