Seattle police find SUV suspected in hit-and-run of 7-year-old girl

SEATTLE -- Detectives impounded an SUV believed to be involved in the hit-and-run of a 7-year-old girl earlier this week in south Seattle.

On Tuesday night, police said two hit-and-run drivers struck and critically injured a 7-year-old girl at Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Genesee.

The girl was taken to Harborview Medical Center where she was listed in serious condition in the intensive care unit.

Witnesses told police that a red or maroon Chevy Tahoe SUV stuck the child as she crossed the road. Witnesses said the child fell to the ground and was then struck by a second car, which also sped away.

Officials did not release further details about how or where the SUV was located.
