Seattle ramps up patrols as precaution after Boston bombings

SEATTLE -- The Seattle Police Department announced Monday officers are taking "reasonable precautions to protect" the community in the wake of Boston Marathon bombings that killed three and injured more than 130.

Officer patrols have been directed to increase patrols in neighborhoods and around infrastructure. The Seattle Police Department has been in communication with the mayor's office and the office of emergency management.

Seattle residents may see an increased police presence, authorities said, though there are no indications that there is a threat to Seattle.
