Sex offender accused of pimping 16-year-old from jail allegedly sent shocking letter to victim
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Police say a sex offender continued to pimp a 16-year-old girl while he was held in the Spokane County Jail.
KXLY reports the parents of the girl found a letter written by the inmate last month telling her he expected her to make at least $200 a day.
“It seemed like that letter was directing a juvenile victim to engage in sexually explicit conduct,” Spokane County Sheriff's Detective Damon Simmons said.
A portion of the letter reads, “yea I want you posting every day makin at least 200 hundred dollars a day. We've been through this already. So u should already know the math."
Another passage delivered a warning regarding the teen's loyalty to the accused pimp, KXLY reported.
“This is the part where you plan on being in pocket and stayin loyal for life. Anything less than that is probably a bad move."
Police say the girl is a runaway who is reluctant to cooperate.
The 35-year-old man was jailed for failing to register as a sexual offender and faces human trafficking charges.
