Shocking time lapse video shows drought stricken California lake drop to record levels
FOLSOM LAKE, California – A shocking timelapse video posted to Facebook late last week seems to show the dramatic impact the California drought has really had on that state.
The video shows Folsom Lake roughly 25 miles northeast of Sacramento over several months earlier this year.
“I've been collecting and assembling these since March of 2015 through August 2015 showing the effects of the drought in California is having on our reservoirs,” wrote Ryan Griffith who posted the video.
The California Department of Water Resources reported that Folsom Lake is currently just 18% full. That is a record level for this northern California reservoir.
