Stanwood may have to wait for male strippers
STANWOOD, Wash. - - Plans for a male strip club in Stanwood are getting the cold shoulder from city officials.
The proposed owner of the strip club has filed an application with the city for the building he rents on 271st Street Northwest in Stanwood, the Herald of Everett reported. The proposed club would be a venue for male strip shows, the paper said.
Stanwood Mayor Dianne White told the Herald, "There are many safety issues with this (application)...for example, there is no second exit."
There are other problems with the owner's application, the paper reported: the application doesn't specify what the private club will be used for; the owner has not applied for a business license, and the owner hasn't applied for a building permit for renovations that he's made to the building, including a stage under construction.
The city of Stanwood has now issued a stop-work order.
