SWAT team in standoff with man suspected of shooting wife at Arlington home

ARLINGTON, Wash. -- The SWAT team was in a standoff late Saturday with a man suspected of shooting his wife at their Snohomish County home.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies were called to the 23600 block of SR 9 shortly around 5 p.m. after receiving reports that a 61-year-old Arlington woman had been shot by her 63-year-old husband.

Medics transported the woman to the hospital where she was later listed in stable condition.

Authorities said the man, who has not been identified, went back into his home. The Everett/SCSO regional SWAT team was called to the scene where they were trying to get the man to surrender.
