Teen fan trespasses on set of popular show, gets 'citation' issued by hunky actor (PHOTOS)

MONROE, New York -- Sometimes, being a die-hard fan of a TV show gets you a letter from one of the show's stars.

And sometimes, it gets you a criminal citation issued by a hunky corrections agent actor.

Samantha Gardella, 19, is a huge fan of Orange Is the New Black. So when she discovered that outdoor scenes of the Netflix original series were filmed just minutes from her home at an abandoned Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center, the amateur photographer jumped at the chance to take some awesome shots.

"After finding out that Orange is the New Black films all of their outdoor prison scenes about 30 minutes away from my house, the very next day I grabbed my camera and headed over to the set," Gardella told Q13 FOX News.



Gardella went to the abandoned prison a total of three times, lining up photos she took with stills from the popular show. She said she took the photos as a unique opportunity to add to her portfolio, as she's trying to get into the Film Degree Program at Full Sail University in Florida.

She posted the photos to Tumblr, where they quickly garnered over 137,000 likes and re-blogs. The photos and her story was also shared on BuzzFeed, E!News, and other popular sites.

"I have people asking me to give them tours of the set," Gardella said.

The pictures were even noticed by Lionsgate, the show's legal teams. They sent Gardella a friendly reminder that while the abandoned hospital might be a fun place for fans to visit, is is technically New York state property, and she is not allowed to be there without permission.

Thankfully, the show's Twitter account took a more humorous approach. Rather than send her another "Cease and Desist" letter, they decided to issue her a Litchfield Correctional Warning -- the fictional prison on the show -- telling her she was cited for violating prison rules.

Nice work, Gardella! But you might want to stay away less you get arrested and thrown into REAL jail.
