Teen's guardians arrested after he reports months of abuse, torture

This is the neighborhood in Central Kitsap in which a 13-year-old boy says his older brother and sister-in-law tortured him.

SILVERDALE – Friday evening, a 13-year-old boy found by police sleeping on a park bench suffering numerous injuries was taken a local hospital. While he was receiving treatment, the teen related to police a detailed story of abuse and torture he said he had suffered at the hands of his guardians.

Bremerton police arrested the boy’s guardians -- the teen's 27-year-old brother, Brandon Gunn, and Bradon's wife, Viviana Gunn, 34. They face charges of assault, criminal mistreatment and unlawful imprisonment charges.

The teen told police Brandon and Vivian would tie him to rafters and hit him with bats, cords and metal bars. The boy also told police that Brandon would puncture the palm of his hand with a staple gun.

He also told police that his brother and sister-in-law would force him to strip and lock him up in  a dog kennel and deprive him of food and water. He said they called such incidents "sessions."

The victim told police the abuse began earlier this summer at a home on the 1000 block of NW Cloninger Court in Silverdale.

Brandon and Viviana Gunn appeared before a judge Monday; they remain in jail and their bail is set at $500,000 each.
