The Pooch Patrol: Arlington Police recruiting dog-walkers to combat neighborhood crime

ARLINGTON, Wash. – The Arlington Police Department is looking for volunteers to join the newly created Pooch Patrol program.

The idea is to get as many eyes and ears on the lookout for suspicious activity in neighborhoods across the city.

“When they see something that doesn’t add up, call 911 because it’s probably an issue,” said volunteer Judy Ness.

The department plans to hold a meeting to share pointers with dog-walkers on what to look for while they’re out walking their pets.

The program is being funded by NOAH, Arlington Hardware, the Gleneagle Home Association and other local donations.

If you’d like to volunteer, contact the department at 360-403-3400.
