The Seahawks are the most heavily favored team in the playoffs this weekend
SEATTLE – Vegas doesn’t care that the Seattle Seahawks will be a No. 6 seed playing on the road in frigid temperatures in a 10 a.m. game next Sunday.
Not even a little.
Odds-makers have installed the Seahawks as a 5.5 point favorite against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday – the largest spread of the four NFL wild-card playoff games that will be played next weekend.
This weekend is strange in that of the four wild-card teams playing, three are favorites on the road. Kansas City is favored by three at Houston, while Pittsburgh – the other No. 6 seed – is a 2.5 point favorite at Cincinnati.
The only favored division winner is Washington, which is a one-point favorite against Green Bay.
Things get a bit less bullish in the long-term.
Though the number-crunching website fivethirtyeight.com ranks Seattle as the best team in the NFL, odds-makers are still giving them just a 14 percent chance of making it to the Super Bowl, and a 9 percent shot at winning it.
