This girl sneezes 12,000 times a day -- and doctors are stumped

A Texas girl started sneezing about a month ago, and hasn't been able to stop.

Katelyn Thornley, 12, told KTVT that she can't even go to school.

She sneezes about 20 times a minute -- that's 12,000 times a day.

"I just started in little spurts, I'd just start sneezing. I thought, 'Oh, I'm allergic to something,'" she told the station. "I am just constantly in pain with my abdomen, and my legs are hurting because I've been weak and I can barely eat."

The sneezing only stops when Katelyn goes to sleep and she has to take a Benadryl for that to happen.

“Sometimes I wish I could leave my body for a little while so I could watch myself sleep,” she told KTVT, “because even in my dreams, I sneeze.”

Doctors have ruled out that it's an allergy or a virus.

Katelyn's parents are hoping someone with expertise will come forward to help their daughter.
