2 dead after domestic violence shooting spills into Puyallup neighborhood
A domestic violence incident in Puyallup escalated into a shooting involving family members and a neighbor, leaving two people dead and one seriously injured. Police say the investigation is ongoing as they work to determine what led to the violence.
What they're saying:
According to police Capt. Kevin Gill, the incident involved three family members: two adult women and an adult male. The incident spilled out into the street and eventually ended in the driveway area of a neighboring home.
Police said the man shot the two women. A neighbor then intervened and shot and killed the suspect.
One of the women died, and the other was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition, authorities said.
When asked if the neighbor who shot and killed the suspect acted in self-defense, Gill said it remains under investigation whether the neighbor acted in self-defense. However, the neighbor is cooperating with police.
Detectives are processing the two crime scenes – the family's home and the neighboring house – and interviewing several witnesses.
The identities of those involved have not been released.
Further information is limited at this time.
