Trooper hurt in crash on US 2 near Everett

EVERETT, Wash. -- A trooper was injured in a crash early Wednesday on US 2 just east of Interstate 5.

Officials say a car heading westbound in the left lane swerved into the right lane and hit the trooper's car which then hit a guardrail and flipped.

The trooper suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The other driver was not hurt.

The scene was cleared by 8 a.m. but drivers were experiencing long residual delays on westbound US 2 approaching I-5.
