Twilight saga author to attend Forks festival on 10th anniversary of first book in Sept.
FORKS, Wash. -- The author of the Twilight vampire saga will be in Forks on Sept. 12 to meet fans during the 10-year anniversary of the publication of the first novel, it was reported Thursday.
The Peninsula Daily News said Stephenie Meyer, author of the Twilight series of books that were later turned into popular movies, will be in Forks to sign books from the series for her fans.
The vampire / love story was set in Forks.
The PDN reported that Lissy Andros, executive director of the Forks Chamber of Commerce, which is organizing the 2015 Forever Twilight in Forks festival, said Meyer does not often take part in public events.
The newspaper said online pre-registration is required for the book signing and will be available at www.forevertwilightinforks.com.
The festival committee is expecting more than 1,000 people from as far away as Australia, France and South Africa to attend.
