Two people killed in head-on crash on Highway 510 near Lacey
LACEY, Wash. (AP) — Two people were killed in a crash Wednesday that toppled a power pole in Lacey.
Washington State Patrol officials say 61-year-old Sherry Hicks was driving a car east when it drifted across the center lane on Highway 510 Wednesday afternoon.
The vehicle hit an oncoming vehicle, spun and then struck another vehicle. The State Patrol said one of the vehicles struck a power pole, breaking it at the base.
Authorities say Hicks and her passenger, 62-year-old Joe Hicks, died in the crash. Both were from Roy, Washington. The other drivers were not injured.
The people in two other cars involved in the crash were not hurt.
Gill says food containers were found in the front seat and that distracted driving is a possible cause of the crash.
