U.S. Marshals find missing sex offender; accused rapist 'tired and hungry' -- and hiding out in RV

trotmanFUGITIVE CAPTURED June 6, 2013 -- Department of Corrections Ofc. Henry Pineda and the U.S. Marshals Pacific NW Fugitive Apprehension Task Force arrested last week's top fugitive on Thursday night in Renton. Level 2 sex offender Andrew Trotman -- who had cut off his GPS tracker -- was hiding in an RV next to a home when he was taken into custody just before 8pm. He is a pimp wanted for allegedly raping, choking and beating a woman as he tried to force her into prostitution. He told officers he’d lost a ton of weight because he was stressed out and hiding for the last week. Trotman said he was worried about being captured after seeing himself on Washington’s Most Wanted. Credit for this capture goes to the task force that includes some very dedicated DOC officers, as well as Federal Way police, who have been working hard on the case to find him and bring charges against him.

FUGITIVE WANTED IN FEDERAL WAY May 31 -- Police are looking for Andrew Trotman, an accused sex offender and kidnapper who cut off the GPS tracker that was strapped to his ankle. Federal Way police said that Trotman pimps out young girls -- his latest victim was a 17-year-old girl that he reportedly choked, beat and raped when he tried to force her into working as a prostitute a few weeks ago. The girl got away and ran to Northgate Mall for help. But detectives said Trotman tracked her down and dragged her out of the women's restroom in a store and then beat her in the parking lot of the library across the street. "The reason why we wanted Washington's Most Wanted to take a look at him is that this type of crime he's committed -- it's not the first time. He is a registered Level 2 sex offender in Federal Way. He committed a similar crime several years ago and is currently on probation for that crime," Cathy Schrock with the Federal Way Police Department said. Police also said that Trotman uses the women he associates with to help him lure in new girls. "He was introduced to her and they acted more like they were going to have a relationship, but then it immediately turned to assault, intimidation and rape and this all happened within a one- to two-day period," Schrock said.

Andrew Trotman is covered in tattoos. He's 36-years-old and was last living on 29th Avenue South in Federal Way, but detectives said he could be anywhere. He has 10 felony convictions and has fought with police when they've previously tried to arrest him. Police said Trotman has connections to Issaquah, Renton and Federal Way. If you can tell police where to find this convicted sex offender accused of rape, kidnapping and assault with a sexual motivation, make an anonymous call to the Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-222-TIPS. There is a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of Trotman. You can also text a tip here.
