Underage driver, 14, charged in Lakewood wreck that killed 10-year-old boy
TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Pierce County prosecutors have filed criminal charges against a 14-year-old boy who is accused of driving a car that crashed and killed a 10-year-old passenger.
The News Tribune reports that not guilty pleas were entered on the teen's behalf Thursday in Pierce County Juvenile Court. He is charged with single counts of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and hit-and-run.
Dylan Wilson was killed in the crash Monday and two other boys, ages 14 and 11, were injured when the car hit a pole and then a tree in the city of Lakewood.
The children got the keys to a car belonging to the 11-year-old's mother.
Detectives are investigating what led up to the wreck near the homes of the four boys.
