UW pole vaulter Jax Thoirs could go to Rio Olympics
A University of Washington pole vaulter could go to the Olympics in Rio - if he jumps high enough. Our news partner the Seattle Times reports - Jax Thoirs will try to become the first Husky pole vaulter to win three straight conference titles, this weekend.
If he jumps 18-feet-8-inches, the Scotland native has a chance to make the British team! Thoirs is currently the Scottish pole vault record holder, winner of the 2016 NCAA indoor pole vault national title, and a two-time Pac-12 pole vault champion.
