OLYMPIA - Community leaders and victims of gun violence are renewing their push to change state gun laws Tuesday.

The Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility is filing an initiative for the 2014 legislature to expand background checks on all gun buyers.  The coalition says the initiative will close loopholes in state criminal background check legislation by having mandatory background checks for gun show purchases.

According to the Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility, public polling shows nearly 8 in 10 Washington voters support expanding background checks and reforming existing gun laws.

The filing happens to be on the last day of the special legislative session.
