Video shows Lake Stevens murder victim, accused killer together
LAKE STEVENS -- Surveillance video inside a Lake Stevens McDonald’s shows murder victim Phillipa Evans-Lopez and her accused killer, Anthony Garver, three days before she was found stabbed to death in her home.
On the video, she is seen buying the two of them breakfast.
Evans-Lopez, 20, was found tied to her bed June 17. She had been stabbed multiple times.
Garver, 25, is charged with first-degree murder in the case. He is being held without bail in the Snohomish County Jail.
Snohomish County Major Crimes Unit detectives still need witnesses to come forward who may have been with Evans-Lopez and Garver on the days and week prior to her death.
“We want to know how they met, when they met. Do they have friends in common? Those are the things we’re trying to answer right now,” detective Brad Walvatne said.
They also need to know if anyone stopped by Phillipa’s residence on 15th Street Southeast in Lake Stevens on the weekend prior to her body being discovered (June 15-17).
“We want to know if anybody came by here, if they drove by and saw anything suspicious, talked to anybody, saw anybody in the house, on the property, that’d be very helpful for us, too," Walvatne said.
Call the Major Crimes Unit hotline at 425-388-3845 if you have any information.
