Wildfire breaks out near Lake Chelan

SEATTLE -- The U.S. Forest Service confirmed that a wildfire near Lake Chelan burned 400 acres and threatened some structures in the area. Brant Stanger,with the Forest Service, said that the fire was located 15 northwest of the city of Chelan and more than 60 firefighters were on the scene.

No evacuations had been made, but the Sheriff's Office will determine if evacuations will need to be made.

The Forest Service is calling more fire fighters throughout the state to provide assistance and more than 300 fire fighters are expected to be on the scene by Friday morning.
