Chris Francis
Chris Francis is the newest member of the FOX 13 Sports team, joining in August 2024, but he is no stranger to the PNW. In the last 15 years, Chris has covered nearly every major sporting event in Washington as sports director at KIRO 7.
Ask him to recount his most memorable stories and at the top of the list are the Seahawks' Super Bowl appearances in 2014 and ‘15 (including one unforgettable parade). Close behind would be the Mariners' playoff run in ‘22, the US Open at Chambers Bay, the Huskies playoff and national championship runs and the first three seasons of the Seattle Kraken. He has even dabbled on the news side of things during his travels, covering everything from crime and the economy to local politics and natural disasters.
Chris grew up in the DC suburbs – waaay back in the 80s! – and after graduating from the University of Akron, began his 30-year journey as a sports broadcaster. After stops in the "Other Portland," Wilmington, N.C., Norfolk, Va. and Milwaukee, he finally made his way to Seattle in 2009.
Away from the stadiums, Chris and wife Alexis bribe two young kids with toys and ice cream, and he always finds time to hit the golf course. His top five movies are: The Hunt for Red October, The Big Lebowski, Goodfellas, Heartbreak Ridge and Midnight Run.
