CenturyLink Athlete of the Week: Kristofer Garrett of Wenatchee High School
RENTON -- The Seattle Seahawks, CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) and Q13 FOX today announced Kristofer Garrett of Wenatchee High School as the week four CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week. Kristofer will be recognized at CenturyLink Field during the October 13 game against the Tennessee Titans.
Kristofer, a senior at Wenatchee, was selected Athlete of the Week based on his dedication to academics, community involvement, leadership and athletic performance. Kristofer has been a starter on the varsity football team since his sophomore year, playing nose guard (at 5'5", 145 lbs) and defensive back. He was also elected captain for the varsity wrestling team, and as a junior last year placed 1st at Districts, 3rd at Regionals, and went to State in the 138 lb weight class. Last year, Kris placed first in Deca State - a marketing competition - and went on to the Deca International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, CA and won first place in the national competition. Kris has also been involved in multiple community activities, such as the Big Brother/Big Sister program, Ignite, Make Your Day projects and various other volunteer activities.

As the CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week, Kris will also be recognized at his school in front of his family, peers and teachers. He will also receive a $1,000 grant from CenturyLink and the Seahawks for his school's Associated Student Bodies (ASB) fund, in addition to media recognition, tickets and sideline passes to a Seahawks game, and a customized 2013 Seahawks jersey.
