Jorge Polanco to return to Seattle Mariners on 1-year deal: reports

The Seattle Mariners have reached an agreement on a one-year deal with infielder Jorge Polanco to return to the team for the 2025 season, according to multiple reports.

First reported by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Polanco’s deal is worth $7.75 with a vesting option for a second year based on plate appearances.

The plan is to play Polanco at third base, per the reports. Polanco played second base for Seattle primarily last year.

The Mariners acquired Polanco in a trade with the Minnesota Twins last year believing he’d be their fix for the second base spot.
