Schneider: Chancellor will 'absolutely' be a Seahawk next season

SEATTLE -  Don’t worry, Seahawks fans: Kam Chancellor is coming back.

According to multiple reports Tuesday, Seahawks general manager John Schneider confirmed what Chancellor said on an Instagram post last week.

"Yeah, he's a Seahawk, absolutely," Schneider reportedly said.

Chancellor held out for training camp and the first two games of the regular season because he was unhappy with his contract, which still hasn’t been reworked.

"Kam is an extremely prideful, spiritual person," Schneider said. "There's a lot of family things that stay in house. That's one of them. I can't speak more highly of a guy. It was a tough, tough thing for everybody to go through last year, so I'm glad he feels that way."

Speaking at the league meetings on Tuesday, Schneider also put to rest any talk that there was any deep meaning behind Marshawn Lynch’s failure to file retirement papers yet.

“We just haven’t received his papers yet,” Schneider said. “He’s been out of the country riding camels and stuff.’’

Finally, Schneider said not to read anything into the fact his and Pete Carroll’s contracts expire after next season.

"Both Pete and I, we love doing what we are doing, and we are happy,” Schneider said. “It's not really a story. We just love working together."
