Seahawks say Rawls, Graham won't be ready when training camp starts

SEATTLE - Neither Thomas Rawls nor Jimmy Graham will be ready to practice when the Seattle Seahawks open training camp Saturday, general manager John Schneider said Thursday.

Schneider, however, told reporters he expects both to be ready when the the Seahawks play their season opener against the Dolphins on Sept. 11. He said the team plans to be very cautious with both players' injuries.

Schneider also said he expected defensive end Michael Bennett, who has said he is unhappy with his contract, to report to camp on time Friday.

Stepping in for an injured Marshawn Lynch last season, Rawls ran for 830 yards and four TDs before suffering a season-ending ankle injury against Baltimore in December.

Graham underwent knee surgery after tearing a patellar tendon in a victory over the  Steelers.

Seattle's first preseason game is on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs on Aug. 13 at 1:30 p.m. on the home of the Seahawks, Q13 FOX.
