Seahawks wide receiver proposes to Alabama gymnast in front of crowd (VIDEO)
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Seahawks second-year wide receiver Kevin Norwood is still hunting for his first Super Bowl ring. But the ring he recently picked out for his fiance Kayla Williams is an even greater treasure.
Norwood, the Seahawks 4th Round Draft pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, proposed to Williams at the Coleman Coliseum in Alabama Friday night, following the star gymnast's final home college meet.
According to Al.com, Norwood had been planning to propose to Williams at the meet for some time, a fact that surprised the gymnast.
"He's more private," Williams told Al.com. "So for him to do that in front of that many people was a surprise to me. That's not how I expected it to happen."
The couple have been together for three years, meeting when Norwood played for the University of Alabama. Norwood said his rookie year with the Seattle Seahawks was tough, only because it was his first time being apart from the woman he loves.
"It was great in a way," Norwood told Al.com. "Being in Seattle by myself and not knowing anyone and stuff like that, I just had more time to think to myself of what I really wanted in life, so that was pretty much the game changer for me."
