The Seattle Mariners are making multiple changes to their broadcast teams ahead of the 2025 season, according to reporting from The Seattle Times.
Per reporter Adam Jude, Mike Blowers will not return to the booth this year as a rotating cast featuring Angie Mentink, Jay Buhner, Dave Valle and Ryan Rowland-Smith will serve in the analyst role alongside television play-by-play voice Aaron Goldsmith.
The backstory:
Mentink will be the first woman in team history to be a regular in the color analyst role. She had worked in the booth in spot duty since 2021, when she became the first woman to work a Mariners broadcast in the color analyst role.
The Mariners moving on from Blowers means neither one of the team's primary television broadcasters will be back with the club this season. Dave Sims left the team in November to replace John Sterling as the radio voice of the New York Yankees. Sims and Blowers had paired together on broadcasts since 2007.
Dave Sims set to leave Seattle Mariners for Yankees radio job
Seattle Mariners play-by-play broadcaster Dave Sims is set to leave the team to replace John Sterling as the new voice of the New York Yankees on WFAN.
Goldsmith takes over the full-time television voice after splitting duties with Sims on the radio side alongside Rick Rizzs. On the radio side, Gary Hill Jr. will split the duties with Rizzs as an analyst and play-by-play partner.
The four television analysts will also be a part of ROOT Sports' pre- and post-game shows, joining Brad Adam and Jen Mueller.
