University Place to allow RVs to park on private property for U.S. Open
UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. (AP) — There's some good news for people who haven't found lodging for next month's U.S. Open debut at Chambers Bay.
The city of University Place is allowing property owners and their guests to park multiple recreational vehicles on their land during the golf championship June 15-21.
The News Tribune of Tacoma reports the University Place City Council approved allowing six RVs per acre of residential property, up to a maximum of 10 RVs per parcel.
The city will allow RV stays of up to 10 days without a permit, but generators won't be allowed to keep neighborhood noise down.
Property owners can also rent out RVs to paying guests. The city doesn't expect to collect taxes or fees from those transactions.
