Hawaii sees snow after rare blizzard warning

Blizzard warnings for Hawaii are rare, but not unheard of. The Big Island has mountain peaks that reach nearly 14,000 feet (more than 4,200 meters).

Mountain Loop Highway closes for the season on Dec. 3

With the snow hitting the ground in higher elevations, Snohomish County Public Works will close Mountain Loop Highway at 8 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 3 for the rest of the season.
