DNA hit leads to arrest in Oklahoma of convicted felon; accused rapist wanted in King County
FUGITIVE CAPTURED June 3, 2014 --
The King County Sheriff’s Office says the rape suspect is in custody in Oklahoma and King County detectives are on their way there to try to interview him.
Investigators say Christopher Brown was arrested Tuesday by the Oklahoma City Metro Fugitive Squad.
He's accused of choking, beating and raping a 58 year old grandmother on March 6th who was walking to the bus stop on SW Roxbury St.
King County detectives released a sketch and photo of the victim's shoe-shaped purse in an effort to catch him in case he gave it to someone.
Instead, they say DNA was the key to identifying him.
King County Detectives say Brown is originally from Oklahoma and was visiting Seattle between January and mid-April, 2014 and was staying two blocks from where the rape occurred.
Court documents show he first propositioned the victim and asked her if she would have sex with him for $40. She tried to walk away, but detectives say he grabbed her around the neck from behind, choked her until she was almost unconscious, lifted her off her feet and dragged her into a dark, secluded lot. He allegedly told the victim not to make any sounds or scream he would, “kill her” and “shoot her.” She told investigators he ordered her to call him “Antoine” or “Anton.”
Brown has been charged with rape and assault and faces extradition back to King County.
Prosecutors are asking for a $1,000,000 bail when he is returned to Washington.

WANTED IN WHITE CENTER BY KING COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE March 28, -- King County detectives released a sketch of an accused rapist who they hope you can identify. "Our victim was walking down Roxbury," said King County Sgt. Cindi West. "It was late at night. A man approached her. He asked for a cigarette, and then apparently she continued walking on her way. He grabbed her from behind. He dragged her into a vacant lot. He beat her severely, and then he sexually assaulted her. At some point when she finally came to, she walked back to the street, she flagged down a person who was waiting for a bus, and called 911 for help. She spent quite a lot of time in the hospital as a result of her injuries. We really want to catch this guy. We're afraid he's looking for more victims." Detectives also need you to take a look at the woman's purse that the suspect took after the attack. It's shaped like a high-heel and it has a black handle.

Detectives said the purse was never found, and the suspect could have ditched it or given it to someone else.
