Fighting liquor thief: Grocery store manager gets punched when he takes matters into own hands
WANTED IN SEATTLE -- It's a fight over fifths as a grocery store manager takes on a strong-armed liquor thief. "People think that it's a shoplifting situation. Well, it starts out that way. You see the suspect taking three bottles of liquor and he tries to conceal it. The manager on duty sees this taking place, approaches the suspect and questions him. The suspect avoids him and starts heading toward the exit. The manger approaches him again. In this specific case, the suspect turns around and punches the clerk in the face, causing bodily damage and then exits the store. It's turned from a shoplifting case to a robbery case and we need to know who this individual is," retired detective Myrle Carner of Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound said. The suspect was wearing a black North Face jacket. If you can tell Seattle detectives who this accused liquor thief is -- who is willing to fight for his fifths -- call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS. You can also text a tip here.
