Lynnwood police usher in high-violent fugitive's New Year -- with handcuffs
FUGITIVE CAPTURED January 1, 2014 -- Lynnwood police officers assigned to the department's Special Operations Section captured Dion Thorne on New Year's Day. FUGITIVE WANTED IN SNOHOMISH COUNTY May 31, 2013 -- the Department of Corrections is looking for Dion Thorne, a high-violent offender who is on the run and wanted for escape. Thorne is easy to spot with his numerous religious tattoos -- and his distinctive ears. He's been busted for several armed robberies of espresso stands in the area and officers say his robbing ways are all fueled by his nasty drug addiction, mainly to heroin and powerful prescription pills like oxycontin. Thorne's reckless streak ended with him hitting two coffee joints in one day and his run from the law finally ran out. "Officers stopped a vehicle driven by Thorne's girlfriend. Thorne was in the passenger seat and in the backseat was clothing matching the description given by the victims of the robbery. In the trunk, they also found more clothing matching the description and a silver gun that turned out to be a BB gun. Thorne was arrested immediately," Christina Lacy with the Department of Corrections said. In another robbery, Thorne robbed a woman at gunpoint for oxycontin pills. He's been busted with a dozen or so of the powerful pills on him. Thorne is 27-years-old and is inked with two religious tattoos -- a cross and "Jesus" on his left shoulder and praying hands on his left chest.
